Telecommunications (Interception Capability and Security) Act 2013 Delegations and Class Exemptions

Under sections 72 and 73 of the Telecommunications (Interception Capability and Security) Act 2013 (TICSA), Commissioner Mike Bush appointed Richard Chambers as the Designated Officer and the Registrar for the purposes of the TICSA, with all associated functions, duties and powers as outlined under the Act.

Under section 74 of the TICSA, the following peope have been delegated the functions, duties and powers of the Registrar and Designated Officers:

  • Detective Inspector Mark Buttar
  • Detective Senior Sergeant David Lankshear

Under section 74 of the TICSA, the following has been delegated the functions, duties and powers of designated officers:

  • Alice Sleep

A person to whom any functions, duties or powers are delegated may perform and exercise them in the same manner and with the same effect as if they had been conferred directly by the Act (with the exception of the power of delegation).
