Cost Recovery

Submissions have now closed on the possible introduction of charges for certain Police services on a cost recovery basis, in particular the Police Vetting Service.

The submissions received during the 12 week consultation period will now be analysed, and taken into account when Police reports back to Government with recommendations. The feedback received will help to shape the final proposals for Government consideration.

If the Government decides to make changes to the Policing Act 2008, you will have the opportunity to make a submission to a Parliamentary Select Committee which must consider any proposed changes before legislation is passed.
