Constable Thomas Heeps

Died: 21 October 1934

On October 20th, near Otorohanga, Constable Heeps located Hona who was sought for killing four people. Constable Heeps was shot twice on attempting to return him to the station.

He died in Waikato hospital the following day after being operated on.

Hona shot himself when he was surrounded by Police on a farm.
