Can I get a conviction removed from my record?

If you committed a less serious offence more than 7 years ago, you may be able to get a ‘clean slate’. This will automatically happen if you have no further convictions and meet all other criteria. A clean slate means you can conceal convictions in most circumstances. This will continue as long as you meet all the criteria. More information about the Criminal Records (Clean Slate) Act 2004 is available from the Ministry of Justice Privacy Unit .
