Can I get a copy of a police report for insurance purposes?

Yes. Either visit the police station where you first reported the loss or incident, or write to the Police Privacy Officer, NZ Police, PO Box 3017, Wellington. Include your:

• full name
• current address
• date and place you reported the loss or incident to police
• file number from the police report.
