How can I get a firearms licence, or apply for a new one when my current one is due to expire?

If you are 16 years or over, you can visit your local police station to apply for a New Zealand Firearms Licence or apply to replace a licence due to expire.

You will need to pass a multi-choice test and attend a training lecture on firearm safety. More information is on pages 40-41 of the Arms Code . The vetting process usually takes around six weeks.
