I will be travelling around New Zealand and want to bring my firearms with me. What do I need to do?

You are strongly advised to carry firearms in a padded cover or hard case. This protects the firearm and makes it less likely to alarm the public. It is illegal to carry or use a loaded firearm in a vehicle. Make sure the action is open when around other people. You must have a particular lawful, proper and sufficient purpose to have firearms with you, and keep them secure at all times. Read more on page 47 of the Arms Code.
