I will be travelling to New Zealand with bows and arrows. Do these need to be declared as firearms?

Bows and arrows are not restricted weapons so you don't need to declare them or hold a licence.

However, they are "offensive weapons" under the Crimes Act and should only be carried with a lawful, proper and sufficient purpose, such as travelling to archery practice.
