What is traffic compliance?

If you are stopped for certain offences - such as vehicle defects or licencing issues - you may be offered traffic compliance. This allows you a certain amount of time to fix the problem rather than pay a fine or be prosecuted. You cannot use a defective vehicle in the meantime. You must prove to police you have fixed the problem within the time allowed, for example by showing a receipt for new tyres or for a warrant of fitness.
