I lost an item of property but flew out of New Zealand before reporting it. What can I do?

Phone the police station closest to where you lost the item. Ask the officer to log the item; a report may be sent to you by fax or email. If the item is recovered, deal directly with the police station to have it returned. If the item is of high value or you need help, contact local police in your own country and ask if they will contact NZ Police on your behalf.
