Preparing a Chronological CV, Support Staff
|
What is a chronological CV?
A CV (curriculum vitae) is a brief account of your education, qualifications and previous occupations.
A chronological CV is placing this account into date order.
It is preferable the chronological CV is arranged in reverse chronological order so the most recent roles / positions are described first.
What CV formats are suitable?
There is no right or wrong format but you do want to make it as easy as possible for panel members to read your CV and grasp as quickly as possible that you meet the position requirements being sought for the vacancy. As a rule of thumb, try to place information most relevant to the role on the first page.
Length of CV
You have a maximum of eight (8) pages for your chronological CV, including your contact details and a list of your educational qualifications.
Do not pad your CV out if you don't need to. Panel members like short, to-the-point CVs. Too much extra information which isn't directly relevant can over-shadow the key information that may convince a panel you are worth short-listing.
