1 min read

Police investigating the death of 55 year old Auckalnd man, David McNee are appealing for a man to come forward who was seen near his address on Sunday afternoon and anyone who may have seen his car being driven anywhere in greater Auckland.

Mr McNee was found dead in his home in Hackett St, St Mary’s Bay, by police last night. The last confirmed sighting of him alive was Sunday morning.

A post mortem examination shows he received head injuries from an assault.

Police would like to hear from a man who was seen near his address or anyone who saw him or knows him.

This man was in the Hackett St/Shelley Beach Road area between 4.30 and 5pm on Sunday afternoon.

He is described as a male polynesian or maori who appeared to be in his early 20s. He was about 170 cm tall of slight build and wearing a light grey hooded sweatshirt with the hood up. He was possibly wearing jeans but the colour is uncertain.

Police believe this man was walking down Hackett Street and turned into Shelley Beach Road.

Police also believe his vehicle -- a black Audi TT sports car (AJB 532) -- was driven around the greater Auckland area before police recovered it in Bowen Ave, central city late last night.

&#34We are very interested in sightings of his car at petrol stations or where ever it may have stopped and sightings of this man&#34, said Investigating Officer, Detective Senior Sergeant Lance Burdett.
