1 min read

Police can name the three people who died, after a four wheel drive vehicle rolled on Muriwai Beach in West Auckland, yesterday afternoon.

The names are given with the surname first;

Yim, Soon Sung aged 49 and his wife, Kim, Myeoung Heui, aged 43, both of Auckland's North Shore.

Son, Insoon, a 70 year old female of Korea, she was visiting New Zealand.

The other two occupants of the vehicle remain in hospital. Constable Craig Ellison, of the North Shore/Waitakere/Rodney Serious Crash Unit, says, "It appears the two survivors were wearing seat belts, the three deceased were thrown from the vehicle."

The Serious Crash Unit was at Muriwai Beach this morning to recover the vehicle. It had to be left on the beach last night due to the rising tide.

"An extensive examination of the vehicle will be now be conducted as part of the investigation. Police have also spoken to the driver and to other witnesses to establish what happened," says Constable Ellison.
