Concern for the health of missing patient

1 min read

There’s concern for Salim Mohammad Anwar, a 26 year old man who went missing from Tiaho Mai, the mental health unit at Middlemore Hospital on Friday.

Mr Anwar, who is also known as Maxwell, is a diabetic.

He didn’t take any medication with him and depending on whether he has received any insulin or food, could already be in a diabetic coma.

Mr Anwar is described as 1.77 cms tall, weighs 82 kg, with a full dark beard, black hair, olive complexion and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing brown trousers, a grey track top, brown sandals and a party style gold wig.

Because of his mental illness he may appear disorganised, confused or intoxicated and show poor judgement.

Police would like the public to report any sightings of Mr Anwar by calling 111.

Mr Anwar is not dangerous, the concern for him is that he receives medical attention as soon as possible for his diabetes.
