Car sought by Police

1 min read

Police want to locate a grey 1995 Mitsubishi FTO car, with the registration number BRR 751, as it’s believed to have been used during an altercation at the Beach Rd car fair yesterday morning which has left a man in Auckland hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

Detective Senior Sergeant Julian Rinckes says a 24 year-old unemployed Orewa man has been arrested since the incident for alleged breaches of bail conditions.

"We’re very keen to find the car that was involved in the incident that occurred at about 10.45am," Mr Rinckes said.

"There may also be some witnesses to what happened at that time, as we understand the car was driven at speed while the 56 year-old victim was hanging off it before he fell and received very serious injuries."

Anyone with information about the car should contact the Auckland Central Police station on 09 302 6400.
