1 min read

The post mortem of a 24 year old woman who died at McLaren Falls Park in the Bay of Plenty has been completed.

Details of the cause of death are yet to be fully established – this won’t be fully determined until forensic analysis is done – which could take several weeks.

In the meantime, Tauranga Police continue to investigate what was reported as her "accidental" death on Monday.

Forensic investigations at the scene continue and Police anticipate that it will be also be several weeks before those results are known.

Tauranga Police still wish to speak to everyone who was in the Park on Monday.

"We are particularly interested in any sightings of the 24 year old woman and the red Mazda Familia car", said Detective Senior Sergeant, Greg Turner.

Any person with information can contact the Tauranga Police on 07 5774300 or 0800 SPEAKUP (0800 7732587).

The woman’s name won’t be released now until at least tomorrow night as a Formal Identification has yet to be done.

A Formal Identification is when a member of her family officially confirms her identity in the presence of police.
