Police seek man in relation to Stanmore Road homicide inquiry

1 min read

Police are seeking Anthony Kevin PETERS aged 31 of Christchurch, in relation to the death of Ricky Burnard in Stanmore Road on Wednesday morning, 27 April.

PETERS is also known to acquaintances as `Blobby' or `Ants'. He is described as a male caucasian, 165 cm tall, of medium build.

Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Long says that PETERS could be described as `possibly dangerous', and should not be approached.

"As a firearm was involved in the death of Burnard and this has not been located, the public should call police immediately if they have any information as to where he is," he says.

Police were called to a car burning in a paddock on Winters Road around 4.30am this morning. There they found a vehicle of interest to the investigation and known to have been in the possession of Anthony PETERS.

AOS supported inquiry staff investigating properties of interest yesterday and last night in North Canterbury and Christchurch.
