Police Identify Body Discovered In West Auckland

Henderson Police confirm there are no suspicious circumstances
surrounding the discovery of a body in the Oratia Creek yesterday.

Police went to Millbrook Road yesterday afternoon where they
discovered the body of a male floating in water in Oratia Creek.

A post mortem examination and scene examination has been
completed today. There are no suspicious circumstances and
police are not seeking anyone else in relation to the discovery.

The deceased has been identified as:

John MELDRUM
Male - aged 58 years
Resident of Henderson

Mr MELDRUM had been reported missing and police were
actively seeking his whereabouts and trying to locate him.

Police have now referred the file to the Coroner.
