Search for missing woman

1 min read

Concerns are growing for the welfare of a 63-year-old woman who has been missing all night in Palmerston North.

Dianne Mary Newbury was last seen by her husband at 9.30 last night when she walked off from her Milson Line home without saying where she was going.

She has serious health issues, has a low level of fitness, and does not have any of her medication with her.

Mrs Newbury is caucasian, 5ft 6ins tall and medium build with short dark hair. Although she wears glasses, she does not have them with her. She doesn't have a mobile phone with her.

She was last seen dressed in only lightweight clothing with no jacket, a black top, blue trousers and walking shoes.

A search and rescue operation was launched around 1.15 this morning and currently involves 20 Palmerston North search and rescue volunteers plus seven police officers. The focus initially was on the couple's 10 acre lifestyle block but is now expanding outwards across Palmerston North.

Anyone who has any information about the whereabouts of Dianne Newbury or sees her is asked to contact the police on 111.

Police are currently trying to obtain a photo of Mrs Newbury and this will be circulated in due course.
