A fifth person has been arrested by Police investigating the alleged assaults of two men in Glen Innes in the early hours of Sunday morning.

He's an 18 year-old unemployed man from Panmure who will appear in the Auckland Youth Court tomorrow where he'll be jointly charged with Crimes Act common assault of the 37 year-old Maybury Reserve victim and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm of the 51 year-old security guard.

Maybury Reserve was re-opened to the public today at the conclusion of the Police scene examination and a Maori blessing of the park.

Detective Senior Sergeant Gerry Whitley says the 37 year-old victim of the first alleged assault is still in critical condition in Auckland Hospital.
