Death circumstances unclear

1 min read

Shortly before 11pm last night Police were called by ambulance staff to attend at a Great North Rd address in Grey Lynn where the body of a 58 year-old man was found.

Police secured the scene overnight and are in the process of removing the man's body from the address. It will undergo a post-mortem examination this morning.

Another resident of the address has been spoken to by Police, as have visitors to the property last night.

While the cause of the man's death is not known, it is anticipated that a thorough scene examination which is to be carried out today, along with findings from the post-mortem examination, will help clarify how the man died and whether or not there are any suspicious circumstances.

The man's next of kin have been advised of his death and his name will be released later this morning.
