Orewa Police investigating the death of a middle aged woman at an address in Silverdale have arrested a man for assault with intent to injure.
The man is in Police custody and under guard at North Shore Hospital.
Police launched a homicide investigation after the body of the 50 year old woman was found at an address in Anvil Road in the industrial sector of Silverdale at about 1pm on Good Friday.
The deceased woman's name is
MCSWEENEY / Suzanne Marie,
DOB 30/09/55, aged 50 years
Resident of Orewa.
A post mortem examination has been carried out, but details are not being released.
No other person is being sought by Police in relation to this investigation.
Investigators expect to complete a forensic examination at the address tomorrow and Police enquiries are continuing.
This matter is now sub judice.
Police will not be making any further comment on this investigation at this time.
