Media Release - Operation BESTLAND

Police staff investigating the murder of WAN Biao in Auckland on Thursday-Friday last week last night charged a third man in connection with the murder of WAN Biao.

A 20 year old student will appear in the Auckland District Court today charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder and with kidnapping.

Appeal for Information

Police want to speak to a group of about four women who were at the corner of Wellesley and Elliot Streets at about 3.25 am on the Friday morning 14th April 2006 (Good Friday morning) as they could have information useful to the inquiry. They are asked to contact the inquiry on 0800 BESTLAND. Calls can be made in confidence if preferred. A picture of the four women is available from the police website.

Media interviews will be available after the court appearance around 10am this morning. This will be the only opportunity to interview Detective Inspector Bernie Hollewand today.
