1 min read

North Shore Police are circulating a special notice at an Auckland Tertiary Study outlet in their efforts to find a 23 year old Korean national, reported missing last week.

Young Wook MA, aka Jack MA, was reported missing by his parents on Wednesday 14 June 2006. The last sighting of Jack MA, was at their family address, on Monday 12 June 2006.

Police are circulating copies of the special notice at the Newmarket campus of the Waikato Institute of Technology [WINTEC]. The missing student has been studying at WINTEC for a National Certificate in Computing Level 3 Course, and has been described as an outstanding student. The nine module course finishes at end of June.

The Police notice includes new images of the missing Korean national.

Police say that among the items of clothing Jack MA was wearing when he was last seen, were a hooded grey zip up sweatshirt, and a black pair of skater shoes with white stripes down the side. He took his cell phone at the time of his disappearance.

Polling of the cell phone has established that it was in the Glenfield area on the days of 12 and 13 June 2006. The cell phone is no longer active.

Police are treating the disappearance seriously, while also keeping an open mind on any unexplained reasons for why the young man may have gone missing at this time.

Police say they are becoming increasingly concerned for his safety and well being.

Friends have told Police they are also concerned about the Korean's whereabouts.

Area enquiries by Police are continuing and a wider green belt search is expected to be carried out by a team of experts tomorrow. If anyone has any sightings of this missing man, or any information on his whereabouts, please contact Browns Bay Police on [09] 353 0410.
