Stockyards visit following homicide

1 min read

Police investigating the shooting of Scott Guy in Feilding on 8 July will be handing out flyers at the Feilding stockyards today.

One of the main purposes is to seek information from the rural community about any firearm and ammunition thefts in the last 18 months.

Detective Inspector Sue Schwalger said: "The weapon used to kill Scott was a shotgun which is yet to be recovered. We know that firearms used to commit crime are often obtained illegally so it is only natural for us to canvass recent thefts in the area. Not all thefts are reported, so speaking direct with the farming community may provide police with vital information regarding the weapon."
