1 min read

A second man has been charged following the ram raid of a service station in Marton.

The raid happened around 2am on Monday morning (31 January) when thieves drove a stolen light truck through a roller door at the rear of the Shell service station on Broadway, Marton and stole cigarettes and tobacco.

A 34-year-old Marton man has already been charged in relation to the ram raid. Yesterday, as a result of ongoing Police enquiries a second man was arrested at an address in Whanganui and a large amount of cigarettes, believed stolen in the ram raid, were recovered.

The 30-year-old man will appear at Whanganui District Court this morning charged with burglary and unlawful taking of a vehicle.
