Queenstown Police have located a white four-door Mitsubishi Saloon sought in relation to the alleged kidnapping incident which happened near the town in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The vehicle, found at a Queenstown residential address, was seized today by Police and will be forensically examined tomorrow by Christchurch ESR staff.

Officer-in-charge of the investigation, Detective Sergeant Brian Cameron said information from the public assisted in locating the vehicle.

Police have also spoken to a further person who has provided information in relation to the events of Saturday night.

The victim's 23-year-old girlfriend was re-interviewed today. She was with the victim during the attack and was also the victim of an assault, receiving a blow to her jaw, which did not require hospital treatment.

Detective Sergeant Cameron said police were still interested in information about the movements of the White Mitsubishi Lancer Saloon and the Yellow Toyota Altezza after around 2.15am on Saturday morning.

Police are aware that the White Mitsubishi Lancer Saloon travelled from the Crown Range back to the Frankton Area and are interested in any sightings of the vehicle or of people getting out of the vehicle, in the vicinity of the Frankton Golf Course opposite the bus station, he said.

"We are also interested in the movements of the Yellow Toyota Altezza after the victim was left at Charters Green at Arrowtown after 2.15am on Saturday morning."
