Four people have been arrested following search warrants executed by police in Levin and Otaki.

The arrests are a continuation of Operation Safe Home which took place across five North Island Districts on Tuesday to send a clear message to offenders and to reduce the chances of residents being burgled this festive season. More than 140 people were arrested during the operation including 39 in Central District.

Yesterday two more search warrants were carried at addresses in Levin. A 25-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man were arrested following one warrant. Each has been charged with receiving stolen goods and they have been jointly charged with possession of cannabis.

A stolen chainsaw, some jewellery and a small amount of cannabis were recovered. Two vehicles were also seized under a bailiff warrant.

At a second Levin address Police recovered thousands of dollars worth of jewellery and a large sum of cash. A 48-year-old woman faces two fraud charges and one of receiving stolen goods.
This morning a search warrant was executed at an address in Otaki. Nothing was recovered from that property but a 28-year-old man has been charged with receiving stolen goods.
