Ten Arrested in Gang Sweep

Counties Manukau and Auckland City Police today arrested 10 members of the Mangere based HFK street gang for a variety of property crime offences.

Inspector Chris de Wattignar of Counties-Manukau Police said the charges related to 45 burglaries that had occurred across Auckland over the past six months.

The group have been charged with offences ranging from burglary, unlawfully takes motor vehicle, receiving stolen property and participation in an organised criminal group.

They have appeared in the Manukau District Court today and have been remanded to reappear tomorrow (10 May).
