Waitakere Police have now released the name of the male who drowned in the Huruhuru Stream at Henderson on Friday 21 June 2013.
He was 78 year old Jimmy Wang LIYU of Bahari Drive, Ranui.
There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
Police and Mr LIYU's family would like to thank the local residents who acted quickly in reporting the incident enabling the prompt recovery of Mr LIYU's body.
