Following a domestic incident at a Fairfield address last night, a 57-year-old local man was admitted to Hamilton hospital suffering from a single stab wound to his leg.
"We have begun an investigation into this stabbing. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of his injury. We also secured the scene with a scene guard for examination in the light of day" said Detective Senior Sergeant Ross McKay of the Hamilton CIB.
A female has subsequently been arrested in relation to the stabbing and will appear in the Hamilton District Court later today.
