1 min read

Waikato CIB assisted by Hamilton AOS, ESR, clan lab team and uniform staff this morning executed search warrants at two Ohuapo addresses.

A 32-year-old man was arrested in relation to possession of methamphetamine and firearms at one address. He has been bailed to appear at the Hamilton District Court on Monday 8th July. Quantities of precursor chemicals used in the manufacture of methamphetamine were also found and enquires are on-going.

At the second address the scene remains guarded whilst ESR clan team conducts its examination. The 36 year old male occupant will face a number of charges related to the manufacture of methamphetamine and will appear in the Hamilton court later today.

"Methamphetamine investigations are a key area for Police. We hope the successes of the last few weeks will have significant impact on the availability of methamphetamine within the Waikato and reduce some of the harm and risk to our society" said Detective Senior Sergeant Ross McKay of the Hamilton CIB.

Armed police were involved as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of both police and the public.
