Robber being sought by police

1 min read

Police in Feilding are releasing security footage of a robber who stole cash after threatening a staff member that he had a gun.

The man had been into the Kiwi Bank in Goodbehere Street yesterday morning (Monday, 29 June) stating that he wanted to withdraw a large sum of cash and would return later giving them time to prepare the withdrawal.

He then returned around 1.25pm at which point he told the female cashier that he had a gun and to hand over cash. He left with between $3,000 and $4,000.

No weapon was seen and no-one was injured.

The robber is described as in his 30s, Maori, with long dark hair tied in a ponytail, wearing a dark v-neck jumper, dark trousers and high-heeled boots. He could easily be mistaken as a female.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to contact Feilding Police on 06 323 6363.

Media enquiries should be referred to Communications Manager Kim Perks on 06 351 2546 or 027 234 8256.
