Arrest for Auckland CBD ring theft

Police have charged a man in connection to a ring theft in Auckland CBD on Wednesday 13 December. 
 
A diamond solitaire ring valued at over $36,000 was stolen from a central Auckland jewellery store when a man asked to look at the ring and subsequently ran off with it.  
 
Police conducted a number of enquiries following the theft, and on 28 December, a 31 year old  man presented at Auckland Central Police Station. 
 
The man, who was charged with theft in relation to the 13 December ring theft and two other thefts from earlier this year, appeared in Auckland District Court on 29 December and is due to re-appear on 26 April 2018.
