Police have arrested a 49-year-old woman from Maraekakaho, Hawke's Bay, in relation to her stealing around $12,000 from a local sports club between 2014 and 2016.
She has been charged with Theft and Using a Document For Pecuniary Advantage.
At the time of the offending she was known to the club and had access to it's accounts and funds.
She will be next appearing in the Hastings District Court on 19 September 2017.
Police would like to take this opportunity to remind clubs to ensure they have strict practices in place around the handling of club funds to help prevent this type of offending.
