Arrests following July home invasion in North Canterbury

North Canterbury Police have arrested three people in relation to a home invasion incident which occurred on 15 July 2017 in Kaiapoi.

The three males, aged 16 (of Kaiapoi), 20 and 24 (of Christchurch) have been charged in relation to their roles in the incident and will appear in the Christchurch District and Youth Courts accordingly.

The victim is recovering well after sustaining head injuries and having his property stolen. This included his vehicle which was located burnt out on Ferry Road, Kaiapoi four days after the incident occurred.

The investigation has determined the incident was not random and the general public is not considered to be at risk.

Police would like to thank the public for their assistance in this matter which has contributed to bringing the case to this point.
