Police today executed a search warrant in Waitara in relation to illicit drugs and illegal firearms.

Three people were arrested.

Two men, aged 24 and 21, will appear in New Plymouth District Court tomorrow. Another 21-year-old man has been bailed to appear at a later date.

All are facing charges including Possession of Methamphetamine, Commission of a Crime Using a Firearm and Possession of an Offensive Weapon.

I want to reassure the community that Police will continue to actively seek out those who are in possession of illegal firearms, methamphetamine and receivers of stolen goods.

Police thank members of the public for their patience whilst cordons were in place.

The arrests were made by local Police, with assistance from the Armed Offenders Squad, Tactical Crime Unit, Criminal Investigation Branch and Traffic Alcohol Group.
