1 min read

The body of a man has been found at Uretiti Beach this morning.

About 7am a member of the public found the body about 500 metres south of Tip Road.

Police believe it is the 35-year-old man who went missing while crab fishing on Sunday November 22. The man went out in small inflatable dinghy to set some crab pots. There was a very strong wind blowing offshore and the man’s dinghy was blown out to sea.
Police believe the dinghy tipped over and the man fell into the sea.

Members of the missing man’s family have been notified, but police will not be releasing the name of the man until he has been formally identified.
