Christchurch Police are investigating the death of a male located at a residential address in Linwood shortly before midday on Sunday 25 October 2015.

An associate of the deceased man went to the address and found him.

The deceased is yet to be formally identified but it is believed he is the occupier of the address.

"It is early stages for the investigation and we are still trying to piece together what has occurred.  The death is being treated as suspicious at this stage.  The address is being guarded and it is expected the scene examination will commence later today." says Detective Inspector Tony Hill.

Police have commenced interviewing people who are known to the victim.

There are 15 Police staff currently working on the investigation.  Their focus will be on people that have been in contact with the victim leading up to the death and the scene.
