Charges laid in alleged Meridian scam

Christchurch Police have arrested two people this week in relation to an alleged Meridian scam that has targeted elderly residents in Christchurch.

A 25 year old woman and 19 year old man will appear in Christchurch District Court next week each facing two fraud related charges including Obtain By Deception.

This is a timely reminder to everyone to think twice before giving out any personal information or bank/card details out to anybody.

Police ask anyone who has been approached in a similar manner or notices any suspicious or fraudulent activity to report it straight it away to Christchurch Police on 03 364 7400.
