Police can now confirm the name of the deceased from the fatal crash that occurred on Otatara Road at around 7.45pm last night (Monday 3 August) as Phillip John Ballantyne, aged 57, of Invercargill.
The crash occured when a 1993 Landrover Discovery, carrying three occupants, negotiated a bend and rolled soon after. Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
The other two occupants, a male and a female, were taken to Southland hospital with minor to moderate injuries and later discharged.
Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witness the crash, or have any information regarding it, and ask them to contact Senior Constable Jordan Edwards of the Invercargill Police on (03) 211 0400.
