At just before 8:30am this morning 28 May, 2016, one south-bound car crossed the centre line near Paekakariki, SHI and hit a northbound vehicle head-on. The vehicle then bounced off another north-bound vehicle.
One person has been taken to hospital with serious leg injuries and the others involved in the crash have been checked by ambulance staff and appear to have suffered minor injuries.
The diversions which have been in place for over two hours are about to be moved and traffic flow will return to normal once emergency services leave the scene in the next ten minutes.
