A man has died at the beach near Puketapu Road, Pihama in Taranaki this evening.
Emergency services received a report at 4:25pm that a diver was unconscious on the shoreline.
Initial indications are that the man was shore diving in the area with another man at the time he got into trouble.
The second man is uninjured and Police are ensuring he is supported.
The death will be referred to the Coroner.
