Diversions Removed. SH1, North of Whangarei now open to all traffic, following a car crash.

As at 1240pm SH1, north of Whangarei is now open to all traffic, following a crash earlier this morning.

 

Traffic diversions have been put in place on State Highway One north of Whangärei following a crash involving three cars this morning.

The crash occurred about 10.30am today near the intersection of Saleyard Road and State Highway One. Three cars had a nose-to-tail crash in the southbound lane.

Police are at the scene and temporary traffic diversions are in place.
Vehicles travelling north have been diverted along Great North Road, through the Kamo village and onto to Station Road and then Saleyard Road to State Highway One.
Vehicles heading south have been diverted onto Saleyard Road.

Three people have been transported to Whangärei Hospital with moderate to serious injuries and the Serious Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.
