Police have released the name of the front-seat passenger who passed away last night at Christchurch Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in yesterday’s crash on SH1 at Waikuku.
He was Leithfield man Aaron Thomson-Clark, also known as Aaron James, aged 19 years originally from Rolleston.
The death has been referred to the coroner and the family have requested privacy at this very traumatic time.
Police investigations into the cause of the fatal crash are ongoing.
