Police advise the glider pilot who crash-landed at Tauranga Airport on Sunday the 1st of May passed away yesterday in Waikato Hospital.
Mr Gavin Harvey, aged 40 years, from Katikati, was the only occupant of the glider at the time of the crash.
“Our thoughts are with Mr Harvey’s family, friends, colleagues and the gliding community following this tragic accident,” said Senior Sergeant Andrew Mortimore of Waikato Police.
The matter has been referred to the Coroner.
The Civil Aviation Authority is also investigating the crash.
