Hastings man facing numerous shoplifting charges

Hawke’s Bay Police have arrested a local man in relation to the theft of around $10,000 worth of property between August 13th and September 2nd.

The 30-year-old man is facing ten charges of shoplifting and has been remanded in custody to appear in Hastings District Court on September 26th.

Items stolen include Stihl concrete cutters, a generator, drill tool set, handbags, children's clothing and outdoor jackets.  These were taken from a number of stores across Hastings and Napier.

Attached to this release are images of a concrete cutter and chainsaw concrete cutter which were stolen from the Hastings Stihl Shop on two separate occasions.

The stolen items have not been recovered and Police ask that people contact us if they may be able to help us return these items to their rightful owner.

As this matter is now before the Court, Police cannot comment further.
