Nelson Police are investigating an incident in which a 20 year old man suffered serious head injuries yesterday evening.
The incident occurred in Headingly Lane, near Richmond, about 11pm and involved a vehicle.
Police have launched a serious crash investigation and are conducting a scene examination to establish exactly what has happened.
Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Johnston said Police were keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident.
