Incident in supermarket carpark, Devonport

1 min read

Just after 12.30pm this afternoon emergency services were called to the carpark of New World supermarket in Clarence Street, Devonport.

A 70 year-old man appears to have suffered a medical event and collapsed behind a parked car that was reversing at low speed.

The vehicle ran over the man's leg.

The driver stopped and members of the public used a jack to lift up the car and help the man.

The gentleman has been taken to Auckland Hospital in a serious condition.

An investigation by the Waitemata Police Serious Crash unit is underway.
