Information Sought Following Hit and Run in Papatoetoe

1 min read

Counties Manukau Police are seeking information on a small grey car following a hit and run in Papaptoetoe this morning.

At around 6:30am a 36 year old woman was walking along Stadium Lane behind New World supermarket when a light grey car veered off the lane and onto the footpath, hitting her.

The woman has been taken to hospital for x-rays and assessment and her injuries are currently unknown.

Constable Corbin Elliott says there were no witnesses to the hit and run but a member of the public called emergency services when the victim screamed.

“It is believed that there were two to three people in the car at the time but the reason for veering off the road at the victim is not known.  It is possible that it was a drunk driver.

“The victim is very startled following the incident and we’re looking to speak to the driver responsible for this as soon as possible,” he says.

The car is described as small and coloured light grey.  Anyone who knows anything about this incident or witnessed a small grey car in the Papatoetoe area around 6:30am this morning should contact Police immediately.  Call Constable Corbin Elliott on 021 191 0206 or to provide information anonymously contact the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
